Members of the Class of 2015 received their diplomas May 17 at the 194th Colgate University Commencement. Eddie S. Glaude Jr., the William S. Tod Professor of Religion and African American studies and the chair of the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University, delivered the keynote address.

A total of 1,553 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean's List honors for the spring 2015 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

More than 1200 students at Hudson Valley Community College were recently named to the college's Deans' List for the Spring 2015 term. Students named to the Dean's List have have a term grade point average between 3.0 to 3.49.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 907 students to the President's List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2015 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Kristin G. Esterberg.

At the 21st annual SUNY New Paltz Student Research Symposium, more than 80 students joined their faculty mentors in presenting the results of collaborative research projects in an array of academic disciplines.

Artwork by 72 students is featured in SUNY Oneonta's 2015 Student Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition, featuring more than 100 works by student artists, opened April 13 and runs through May 16 in the college's Martin-Mullen Art Gallery. Featured artworks were chosen from an open jury process and works entered by the art faculty. Painting, drawing, sculpture, digital print, digital video, and an assortment of mixed media make up this year's offerings.

Ithaca College students inducted into the New York Upsilon chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honor society.

A total of 131 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2014-2015 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. Student award winners receive a certificate, a gift card to the campus bookstore, and an invitation to attend the annual Susan Sutton Smith Lecture and reception. Dr. Joseph Pignato, associate professor of music at SUNY Oneonta, will deliver this year's lecture at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, in the Craven Lounge of the college's Morris Conference Center.
